Well.... Palin is a former beauty queen.
She has a BA in journalism from the University of Idaho.
She was the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska (population 6715 according to the town web site).
She has served 20 whole months as the Governor of Alaska (population 670,053) -- which happens to be 2/3 of the population of the city of Detroit.

And - most importantly, she's already being investigated for Ethics violations by a bi-partisan committee in Alaska (for abuse of power)
