We Answered:

Actually I am an old Southern Democrat myself but unlike most of that species I remained a Democrat because I was not a segregationist. I actually had some racial slurs hurled at me during the recent campaign because I was a strong Obama supporter. I remember a time here in Tennessee when some counties couldn’t participate in a statewide Republican Primary because there weren’t enough Republicans in those counties to work the polls. As best as I can remember the last Democrat other than Carter to carry North Carolina was Lyndon Johnson in the 1964 landslide. JFK also won North Carolina in 1960 and a civil rights plank was included in the Democratic platform during both campaigns.

So is your candidate "Hillary" - - someone who needs "rescuing"? Along with her war-room staff and on the warpath ex-President husband, I'd say she will do quite well as far as her historical precedent of how to keep the old model of "dirty politics" alive in the post-9/11 era . . .

the all-out battle you write about in your "interpretation"/blog is not going to be over "race" but over the economic implications of a prolonged war in the Middle East (her bellicose language about attacking Iran with nuclear weapons). . .
