New Democrat Coalition

Vivian Said:

Which of the following groups was not part of the New Deal political coalition?

We Answered:

Doesn't matter; the New Deal ended up being a Raw Deal for America.

Amy Said:

With The New Lib-Con Coalition, How Will They Solve Disagreements In The House Of Commons?

We Answered:

It is a tricky situation. The Lib Dems and Cons have to compromise or find middle ground whenever they come up with policies.

If a situation arises where the Lib Dems and Cons disagree over a major policy, there will be a major problem and instability in the government, and the Coalition may collapse hence resulting in a motion of no-confidence in the House of Commons. When this happens, a General Election will be called. Nobody wants this to happen - politics is ugly enough already.

Jessica Said:

Who was LEAST likely to be part of the New Deal coalition?

We Answered:

Southern Republicans. Not only because all the others were part of the New Deal coalition, but also because Southern Republicans hated FDR's consolidation of executive power (they believed in "state's rights" not strong federal power) and were miffed about his pro-Civil Rights stance.

Anna Said:

By 1935, the New Deal coalition included support from all of the following EXCEPT?

We Answered:

C. big business.

Joan Said:

Which congressional caucus would you be a member of?

We Answered:

None of the above - I'm an independent. My interests lie in education, health care (because that's where I hold professional credentials) and infrastructure. I'll work with anybody on advancing those issues.

Aren't you tired of potholes wrecking your suspension while cretins like Palin and McSame prattle on about immigration - a marginal issue in the best of times?
