New Hampshire Democratic Party

Marion Said:

Who do you think will win the Democratic Party nomination?

We Answered:

I am definetly going for John Edwards But i really think hilary is going to get the victory

Timothy Said:

Did Hillary Clinton and Obama technically tie in New Hampshire?

We Answered:

I agree that this is technically a tie. Everyone seems to be declaring Clinton the winner based on the popular vote, but when it comes down to it, its the delegates that really matter, and Obama and Clinton both recieved 9 delagates.

Now, as far as campaign momentum, which is what the Iowa/New Hampshire primaries are all about, it would appear that Clinton "won" New Hampshire, although several months ago she had a much larger lead.

Additionally, I would like to point out that any tie is a win at this point for Clinton. The superdelegates, who are non-elected delegates to the Democratic primary and make up about 1/5 of the total delegates, have mostly supported Clinton, so she is going into this race with a moderate lead. Obama (or Edwards) needs to get some decisive wins if he is to overcome her initial lead from the superdelegates.

In summary, I would say that it is "technically" a tie, but realistically it is a win for Clinton.

Mildred Said:

So, like the 2008 New Hampshire primary, polls were WRONG.......?

We Answered:

She was covered by the margin of error that all polls have. She will not win in November because there is a Republican that is 20 plus points over her now.

Eric Said:

How much money and out of State People did it take to push Gay Marriage through New Hampshire?

We Answered:

That seems underhanded and dishonest.
And my thought are independent of the issue at hand.
I wouldn't want other states getting legislation passed in my state. That is bs.

People in state A should leave the residents of state B to make up their own minds.

State A should bombard the masses with their chosen propoganda.

Why have borders at all if we want to be involved in other states business?

Why not let the Candians get involved in our next Presidential election? I mean they are only a border away too.

ADD:
Psst...Hey SELDON, you can go to Bed & Breakfasts even if you are only dating...you don't have to be married to share a hotel room anymore. So your argument is moot.

ADD:
and your assumption that the 9th amendment extends to gay marriage is only an ASSUMPTION. I wish people (left and right) would stop pretending their opinions are facts.

and SELDON, the Prop 8 opponents tried to use that tact to overturn the "unconstitutional Prop 8" and they lost their California Supreme court battle. So your claim the court just hasn't ruled on it yet isn't entirely true.

Curtis Said:

Can Al Gore receive the democratic party's nomination without ever declaring himself as a candidate?

We Answered:

In theory, yes. The Convention can nominate any candidate, including one who didn't run in the primaries. If no candidate has a majority in the convention, the backers of different candidates might pick someone like Gore as a compromise.

There was a time when this sort of thing actually happened. Conventions which went through multiple ballots, often winding up with a nominee who hadn't earlier been considered one of the leading names, happened several times in the 19th Century. But it hasn't happened in at least 80 years, and isn't likely to happen again in the future.
