Both parties want you to believe that, if there is any problem in your life whatsoever, the government is the solution. The last thing they want you to do is figure out that you are over 1000 times as likely to die in a car crash than from an act of terrorism. The news channels are simply mouthpieces and propaganda machines for the government. Their main role is to make people think they need government involvement in their everyday lives. Maybe one channel says this party is your savior while the other says it's the other, but they both know it's a game of musical chairs anyway, and so they distract people with the partisan stuff so the propaganda element is less obvious. Tastes great vs. less filling. Either way it's about consuming beer.

The constitution anticipated the government becoming self-serving and oppressive and so it legislated a number of safeguards against that, one important one being the right to bear arms. It's nice to see you are waking up. Keep up the healthy thought processes. Question authority at all times.
