I agree with you. I wish our Democratic Party wasn't such a cog in the "free-trade," deregulation machine. Economically, Dems are a lot like Republicans - though I'd like to think Dems would at least nominally respect workers by not union-busting and by attempting to regulate business a bit more. I'd still much prefer a European-style left party.

No. By and large they are the propaganda arm of corporate America which pays the media's bills through sales of advertising. The owners of these corporations are not nationalist, socialist, or democratic--they are capitalists without national allegiance.

The media reflect the recent trends in consumer sentiment, whatever they may be, because their ratings help determine their advertising rates, and their ratings depend on how much what is broadcast coincide with what the audience wants to see in a given season.

Democrats want a nation where lower income people are enslaved to the government and "elitists", people approved of by members of the "elitist class" like the Kennedy's and Obama, become the Slave Masters.

This is why Democrats worked so hard to destroy education in the United States, why they want gun control and why they want a mandatory national health care plan.

Ignorant people are easier to control. Unarmed people cannot fight back. Almost anything can be designated a "national health issue" by executive order.
