What Is The Difference Between Republicans And Democrats

Nelson Said:

What is one difference between Republicans and Democrats?

We Answered:

The short and sweet answer:

Republicans: Little Government, Big People
Democrats: Big Government, Little People

The long answer:

Republicans: Little Government, Big People

Democrats: Big Government, Little People

This means that Democrats believe their should be laws and regulations for most of what people do. This makes it easier to determine what is right and wrong. They believe in Government assistance for most people that are poor. They believe that the federal government should have an active role in how we live our lives.

Republicans believe that there should be less laws and regulations toward people. They believe that people should be trusted to make the right decisions. They do not believe the government should play a role in our everyday lives. Assistance should be limited.

My views, I am a Republican, not because I have money because I don't. I am a republican because I feel the Democrats are enslaving the poor class. Why would someone get a job if the government pays more for them not to. What would happen if people didn't get so much assistance? They would survive and fight to better their lives. They wouldn't be so dependant on the Government and the majority would increase their growth.
I hope people will realize that assistance is nice but what price will you pay for it, your freedom?

Marion Said:

What is the main difference between republicans and democrats?

We Answered:

Democrats are in favor of more government control of every aspect of our daily lives, from out diet, to our energy use, our shopping choices, our health care, or our disposable income. They favor the idea that there is no problem so big that they can't pass another stupid law dealing with it, even if it has in the event made matters even worse. They count their good intentions but not their results and depend on voters too dull or inattentive to realize what is going on.

Republicans are largely not in favor of these things, and wish to scale back this onslaught on personal freedom. For the most part they favor market forces as the best determination of the the choices of a free society and a reduction in government spending and government meddling in our economy. They believe the individual usually makes the wisest choices, when left to their own instincts and behavior.

Unfortunately not all Republicans are on the same page when it comes to these ideas. Some of them are basically closet Democrats with a lack of self-awareness and have bought into the Democratic party line on many things. George Bush was a good example of this, favoring big government solutions to co-opt the Democrats, failing to recognize that if there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans then why bother voting for Republicans? In the end the GOP got blamed for something that was really the fault of the Democrats, the collapse of the housing market because of the dangerous meddling in it by the likes of Senator Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank.

Gladys Said:

Isnt the fundamental ideological difference between Republicans and Democrats, who the the govt serves?

We Answered:

The Democrats just gave trillions of dollars to the biggest corporations in the nation without any regard for anyone else and with Republican critics, so I believe your argument is out the window.

And the unregulated and unsupervised Federal Reserve controls all of the nation's capitol and rules over a highly regulated banking system. This is called an oligarchy in politics but fair in banking?

Both parties mess up big time, so don't try to push the blame anywhere
