Blue / Red States = Intelligent / Stupid States? We Answered:
Red states can't help being stupid. They were settled by an inferior quality of "wretched refuse" from England. And Fundamentalism works to suppress brain function anyway.Marlene Said:
Why did Obama refuse to stand with the late Congresswoman Tubbs Jones in challenging the 2004 Bush election? We Answered:
Standing with Jones probably would not have benefited Obama-nothing in it for him. He had no vote on the invasion of Iraq because he was a state senator at the time. He was not privy to the evidence supplied by the federal investigators to congress that led them to vote for the war. Recently 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium was removed from Iraq. Sadam had it hidden. There was alot more to the story of WOMD than is known. So Obama gave his opinion without knowing all the facts. He has in fact voted for all the funding for the war since he has been a US senator so he is a hypocrite-IF he really thought the war was so wrong, why did he not try to do something about it. All he did was give a speech when he had no information or the right to vote on the war.Mitchell Said:
Tory plans to force a quick election if government changes its leader, how would this work if...?We Answered:
There is a good reason that the people elect parties to lead government and not individual people.Because the enlightened forefathers knew that one human being should not be leading the country but a group of people that have a mandate to reign for a limited number of years before they can be voted out again.
Otherwise you have chaos.
It is the Media and the spin doctors of the large parties that gives the impression that people elect a prime minister - in fact they are not!!!
Fred Said:
Why do percentages and number of seats in The House of Commons not add up?We Answered:
Why? Because you have totally missed what is going on here.Lets say (for example) in the election for Stonehenge, Labour gets 26.4% of the vote, the Liberal Democrats get 25.9%, the Tories get 24.8%, and the Silly Party gets 22.9%. Labour wins the only seat, so they have 100% of the seats at this point.
Then in the election for Diagon Alley, Labour gets 21.7%, the Lib Dems get 14.3, the Tories get 22.8, and the Silly Party gets 51.2%. The Silly Party gets the only seat there.
At this point, the voting totals are Labour 24.05%, Lib Dems 20.1%, Tories 23.8% and the Silly Party has 37.05%. But in Commons, Labor has one seat, as does the Silly Party, but the Lib Dems and Tories have zero.
Hope that helps.

As Ireland rejects EU Treaty, will GB now keep Labour election pledge @ UK referendum? Can we join US/Canada??We Answered:
Not sure what you mean by join USA/Canada but it would certainly be better than being in Europe. The UK has no natural loyalty to Europe but lots of links to Canada. Even the USA has forgive us for 1776. (Best war the UK ever lost) Consider the possibilities if Britain had won.

How can Gordon Brown remain Prime-minister after today's result? We Answered:
The British Prime Minister serves at the pleasure of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as the temporal leader of her government. Mr. Brown will remain as Prime Minister until the Queen says otherwise. As a practical matter, the Queen will give Mr. Brown a week or two to form a coalition government. If he is unable, then the Queen will invite the leader of another party to attempt forming a coalition. Whoever succeeds in forming a coalition comprising 50%+ of Parliament will be appointed as the new Prime Minister by the Queen.

Conservative wins Louisiana governor's race, Democrat mayor Nagin being investigated by the FBI…?We Answered:
Looks like some sensible voters are getting tired of the political corruption in Louisiana and are doing something about it.
