Jennifer Said:

Presidental election of 2008 candidates pros and cons?

We Answered:

McCain:
+ Leadership abilities (as evidenced by war record and POW stint)
+ More honest of the two
+ Stands firm, not a flip-flopper
+/- Experience in Washington
+/- Relaxed (tends to joke when stressed)
- Cheated on his first wife
BUT + Adopted a child in need
- OLD (might not make it one term)

Obama
++ He's a Washington outsider
+ Excellent charisma
+/- Idealist
- Best friends with a black supremacist
- Plays the race card too often
- Gun control (why not just let them invade)
- Flip-flops on everything
- No military experience
- Limited leadership experience
- Young and brash
- Marxist

Let's be real, most of the Obama supporters only support Obama because the media portrays him as some sort of messiah. CNN, CSPAN and all these networks talk about how bad McCain is and refuse to actually report the good he does. Hell, they practically ignored the fact that the troop surge worked. Fox News is the least biased network out there but the downside of that is...people have to actually THINK!!!
Obama is a racist, arrogant sonofa----- and that does not go well with his Marxist philosophies and socialist policies.

Gordon Said:

How can I get candidates for the 2008 election to address issues at my school?

We Answered:

Contact their campaigns via their various websites and ask for someone who can give you authoritative position statements on whatever issues are of concern to you.

Or you can ask them to have the candidate visit your school and do a Q&A. Who knows? They might actually do it. It would be a good photo op for them. Or they might grant you a brief telephone interview, which you could then share with your student body.

You can find information on all the candidates by going to this link; http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12304248/. If you want a good candidate who has announced and will be interesting to write about try www.barackobama.com. Good luck.

Jessica Said:

Which would you rather have as 2008 Presidential Election Candidates and why?

We Answered:

Right now, I'm leaning toward Obama...Unfortunately this is not because I think he's most likely to be elected, or because I think he would necessarily make the best president. I think he's short on political experience, but I really, really love that he wants all of the parties to work together on what's best for the country, instead of what's best for the parties.

I think Hillary has a decent chance of being elected, but I also think she has a few political ideas that are problematic for her. For example, she's going to continue to get herself in trouble on the socialized medicine issue.

I would generally be pleased if McCain were our president, but I think he may have pissed off his own party enough that he won't get past the primaries.

Rudy Giuliani is another viable candidate. He has had good exposure in his service as Mayor of NYC during the 9/11 attacks, and I think he actually has a good reputation with his constituents there. He's also very well spoken, and could easily get the nod from the Republicans at the primaries.
