Board Of Elections

Joann Said:

Does your local board of elections claim they don't have the resources to screen acorn supplied registrations!?

We Answered:

Then the government needs to cut off taxpayer monies to Acorn and divert it to election boards!!

Brenda Said:

Why does the National Relations Board election for unions allow management to intimidate employees?

We Answered:

Under current law, the EMPLOYER - that's the company - decides whether the union will be chosen by the employees signing cards or there will be a secret ballot.
Employers don't want a secret ballot because then they don't know how each employee voted.

The Employee Free Choice Act takes that choice away from the employer and gives it to the EMPLOYEE - that's the workers - where it belongs.

The act also strengthens and ENFORCES penalties for companies that threaten, intimidate, and fire workers for union activity.

You can read EFCA yourself at www.thomas.gov. That's the Library of Congress site.
In the search box, click "bill number" and enter HR 1409.

Dawn Said:

What is the board of elections and what can they do?

We Answered:

Just go hang out and let us old folks do the voting. I saw Godzilla and I always worry about a giant lizzard.

Marilyn Said:

Could a board of elections give out information about the number of registered voters in a county?

We Answered:

Your county registrar of voters might be able to tell you that, but people register by political party. So you would want to ask how many registered Republicans there are and maybe find out how many registered Libertarians there are.

I'm glad it looks like you want to vote this year, but the cut-off was 2/4 for registering for the 3/2 primary. But you can still vote in Nov!
