Do recent events in Australia reflect the twisted values of the average person in most Western countries? We Answered:
You used the term "political junkies" yourself. They exist everywhere and are outnumbered 1000 to 1 by sports fans everywhere too. Go back to ancient Rome. How many people eavesdropped the Senate and how many crowded the Colosseum? We LIKE bread and circuses.Amanda Said:
What would you consider to be some of the most important issues of the 2010 election (Australia)? We Answered:
all the issues which were not discussed during the election because both parties have worthless policies regarding them- Education
- the War in Afghanistan
- Mental Illness
- Healthcare
- Major Infrastructure projects
- Tax
- Climate Change
- etc....
Australia would not have a population problem if proper there was a lot more investment in infrastructure... truth is the Howard government had 12 years to fix the problem and they did not... so they are just blaming it on a population influx and looking at issues such as asylum seeking and stigmatizing it deeply...

Here is what Tony Abbot says about abortions:
Abbott is a socially conservative Catholic who is known as a defender of traditional family values. He is an opponent of embryonic stem cell research and euthanasia and relayed former US President Bill Clinton's stance that abortions should be "safe, legal and rare".
In February, 2006 he said, "We have a bizarre double standard, a bizarre double standard in this country where someone who kills a pregnant woman's baby is guilty of murder but a woman who aborts an unborn baby is simply exercising choice."
