Fair Elections Now Act

Byron Said:

How many support "The Fair Elections Now Act"?

We Answered:

it would be better than being bought and paid for by a corporation

Clarence Said:

Will unions force more businesses to move over seas?

We Answered:

Something needs to be done to stop employer intimidiation during the elections. This bill of course will not be law, but it's a good first shot across the bow of union-hostile employers, and it has scared the hell out of a lot of poeople that workers are going to get some rights back, that have slowly eroded under republican leadership, maybe not in this form, but it will happen. Arguing that republicans have protected the rights of workers to unionize is a losing argument.

Willie Said:

how do you republican women feel about the FAIR WAGE ACT being shot down by your fellow republicans?

We Answered:

you are paid what you are worth..if you do not make as much as someone else, its your fault...you want the govt to force someone to pay you something you are not worth...i'll go out on a limb and say you probably are not worth much...

Marcia Said:

is our election process fair??

We Answered:

I agree that the candidate with the most votes should win. The electoral college gives disproportionate power to the 2 party system and encourages what I call "defensive voting" (voting for the lesser of 2 evils because with our current system 3rd parties can only act as 'spoilers' and have no real chance of winning or effecting true change)

We need to enact different process which gives the vote back to the individuals, I personally am in favor of 'instant run-off' voting which ensures that we have a chance to vote our conscience first and then if our choice doesn't make it through the first round we at least have a vote in the remaining candidates.
ps. The Electoral College was established to prevent the people from making "uneducated" decisions. The founders feared the easily-swayed opinions of the public and designed the Electoral College as a protection from the easily-swayed public. So much "for the people, by the people . . ."
