How To Vote In An Election

Tonya Said:

In the USA, how long before an election does a person have to register to be able to vote in that election?

We Answered:

Depends entirely on the state. It ranges from a month prior (MS) to that you can register on the day of the election as you vote (ID, ME, MN, NH, WI and WY). One state, ND, doesn't even require registration. See the site below for more info:

Lena Said:

Has any representative ever voted against their region's vote in an election? ?

We Answered:

Uhhhh..Yeah...That's how Obama won.

Good news for Obama, bad news for every one else. FEC shall probably NOT audit his campaign finances, but is definitely going to audit John McCain’s. I guess crime DOES pay…

Stephen Said:

please tell me "how to cast a vote in an election?"?

We Answered:

1. You register to vote in your county.

2. You'll receive materials in the mail about the election (boy, will you get them.)

3. On election day, you go to your assigned polling place. The poll workers will check you off a list, give you a ballot, and direct you to a voting booth.

4. Once in the booth, you select the candidates of your choice. The method of marking a ballot differs from place to place.

5. You hand your completed ballot to another poll worker, who places it in a sealed container.

6. You get an "I Voted!" sticker.

Jessie Said:

Cons say Rasmussen is most accurate as it only polls voters, but how do they know who will vote next election?

We Answered:

... Scott Rasmussen is a right-wing hack with an agenda. Consistently Rasmussen polls are the polls most guaranteed to make freepers happy.

Theodore Said:

Is there a group in PA trying to make it so that 17-year-olds who will be 18 by the election can vote?
