Illinois Primary Election 2010

Michelle Said:

Why are so many Democrats distancing themselves from the failures of Obama?

We Answered:

It's too late.

I have a 'Blue Dog' Representative who voted against Obamacare. He put it simply: "Over 60% of my constituents have said no & it's my job to represent them." I'm a Conservative that would have no problem voting for this guy. It's that simple. How refreshing is that attitude after the Obama-Pelosi-Reid atrocity that we saw force fed to America?

Down with Socialists!

Jay Said:

How can anyone vote against 0bama's great Health Care Plan? Are they racists?

We Answered:

If the people who ask questions are ignorant, then you who can not answer the must be DUMB.
Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-two percent (52%) disapprove.

From CNN: By a 72 - 21 percent margin, voters do not believe that President Barack Obama will keep his promise to overhaul the health care system without adding to the deficit, the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University national poll finds.

If health care reform passes, many of the districts that benefit most from the federal subsidies to expand access to coverage will be those represented by members who voted against the bill. "There's no question that is the case," said Robert Blendon, a professor of health policy at the Harvard University School of Public Health.

Amanda Said:

Will the Republican Party's global warming denial make them an even smaller minority?

We Answered:

It seems like the Republican party is trying the "purist" approach, purging anyone from their party who doesn't march in lockstep on every issue. This will motivate the fringe but alienate the moderates.

While Americans support emissions reductions and specifically cap and trade...

it's not overwhelming support. In this particular case, it will likely hurt their chances in taking the IL Senate seat and certainly other areas where a moderate Republican would have a good shot, but it help their chances at defeating Democrats in very conservative House districts, where alarmism and paranoia over government efforts to restrict carbon emissions runs high and environmental concern isn't as important.
