Bessie Said:

At what time will most news networks call the election on November 4th?

We Answered:

I thought many of them were already calling it for Obama.

Lee Said:

What role does the Queen have in this election for PM?

We Answered:

The queen should not have any role in the rulings of a government or who wins, for her to do this it totally goes against our Constitution and would bring about a bigger crisis than that of a simple Hung Parliament. However if the extreme happens and no one party can form a coalition or agreement and can not set up a government the queen can request another election be called but this is highly doubtful.

I think people are overreacting to the whole thing, its not the first time Britain has had a minority government or Hung Parliament.

By the way:
Conservatives won most seats,
Labour still government while a deal is set out to see who becomes new PM,

so we could have a Labour/Lib Dem Coalition Government
or a Conservative led minority government

Ellen Said:

Do you think that Obama would beat McCain in the November election?

We Answered:

Current polls are not a reliable benchmark, but yes I whole-heartedly do believe that he will. The Republican party is unfavorable now and McCain is not a man that can be rallied around on a large scale. I really don't think the two of them debating will be pretty at all. I think Obama will shred him. I think people want what Obama is selling, sick of insider politics and George Bush's regime with all of the deception and simple disregard for the people he represents.

William Said:

With voter turnout so low, why do news stations think people care about the election results?

We Answered:

I often wonder the same thing about sports. do they not realize that interested people would have watched the freaking game?

Andy Said:

Can someone give me a summary of Iran's latest govt' outlash?

We Answered:

Think 2000 election here, and that's what Iranian demonstrations are about. Voters feel that the Supreme religious leader (the Ayatollah) did not count the votes, and arbitrarily chose Ahmadinejad against the will of the people, so they began a spontaneous (and huge) peaceful protest calling for a recount or a new election to be held. For three days this demonstration was peaceful, and President Obama maintained a neutral stance (praised by three former Secretaries of State and experts on the region), which should have set the tone for our elected representatives. Yesterday, however, a small band of Republican Congressmen led by Eric Kanter (R)-VA decided to grab a little attention (political opportunism) and one-up the President, so they grabbed some camera time and publicly declared support for the demonstrators, even using the words "regime change" as something they favored---EXACTLY what the Ayatollah was waiting for...a chance to blame the demonstrations on U.S. interference. The Ayatollah spoke to a huge crowd at prayer time (many were Ahmadinejad supporters) and cited "American statesmen speaking out" (Kanter and his band of merry men) as "proof" that the U.S. was interfering in their sovereignty, their election, which sparked massive "Death to America" chants among all the Ahmadinejad supporters (thus setting back President Obama's diplomatic efforts if Ahmadinejad is chosen as leader even after the demonstrations), and also prompted the Ayatollah to warn demonstrators if they continued they would be responsible for bloodshed (a warning "justified" in the Ayatollah's mind by the idea of U.S. involvement). I hope Kanter realizes this borders on treason. Last night, news reports say, the one former leader with the power to replace the current Ayatollah was arrested along with five of his family members. What this tells experts on the region is that there may be a rift between the religious council as to how to proceed. Violence continues, according to reports that are being smuggled out in bits and pieces. Is one paragraph enough?
