Local Council Election Results
Claude Said:
How do you explain significant Labour GAINS in English local elections? We Answered:
I don't know how much more of a hint the idiot Brown can ignore. Maybe, in the national elections, Labour took a hiding primarily because no-one wants the reviled Gordon to be our Prime Minister. In the local elections, that didn't matter so much as it was local policies and services that were being voted on.Travis Said:
The BNP got no seats in the Barking&Dag council, came third in the Barking has it all gone wrong for the BNP?We Answered:
"got" no seats is only half the storythey had 12 council seats. they were talking of gaining control of the council. but they lost all 12 seats, and they lost them all to labour. in terms of electoral disappointments thats spin-proof, though no doubt theyll have a go
Travis Said:
should they be punished who put in dubious claims? We Answered:
Yes of course they should, but you and I know that it will never happen. The CPS who are directly employed by the government are not going to bite that hand that feeds them and they will use their usual excuse, it's not in the public interest to prosecute. Of course it's in the public interest it's the public's money that they have been creaming off for their own gains. In anybody's book it's deception. They should be prosecuted and jailed, just like you or I would be. MPs are not above the Law despite what they seem to think.Beth Said:
Is the BNP finished - given the results? We Answered:
They didn't get the hint the last time, they're not any more intelligent now... so personally I doubt it.All in, they probably didn't retain their deposit in any of the three hundred and twenty Parliamentary seats they stood for either, so losing a few council seats, well, probably the least of their problems.
Oh, and just for a real chuckle at their expense.... even the Green Party got a Parliamentary seat.
So much for Griffin's assertion that the support shown at the Euro Elections wasn't simply a protest vote. Innit nice when someone you really can't stand gets a whopping big load of egg on his face?
Edit - points about PR are well enough made but don't worry; how much damage would one MP REALLY do in a system specifically designed to ensure everyone is represented according to the votes of the people? A single BNP MP would be castigated, marginalised and completely irrelevant. Even if they'd get two; then they'd just have a mate to drown their sorrows with in the MP's bar....
