The only way you can really get to an election count is a one of the people counting the votes, or as a party worker (candidate, family maybe, and his campaign workers). The latter are all deployed to watch the counters and make sure that none of their votes slip into the wrong pile.

If you are interested in election procedures it is well worth going to watch one. Your best bet might be to contact one of the parties and ask them if they have any spare places.

Disappointed that one of the successful results was the son of a politician. I had hoped we would get past the nepotism, and the expectancy in those families that because Daddy has a job in government, the whole family is entitled to one too. We need fresh blood, new ideas - and political dynasties refusing to get off the gravy train is stifling new growth. We want integrity, and won't get it from the same old faces doing the same old things. Look at Beverly as one example - the biggest effort I can discern is in claiming higher expenses than anybody else, every last cent she can. She learned well from Daddy - he did the same. So far as I can tell, she feels she has a god-given right to her exalted position.

Who did I vote for? Independents got my 1, 2, 3. I am not a believer in party politics, having seen dismal years of results.

i think its more about how labour has turned around and they are no longer the peoples party they have forgotten their roots the 10p income tax is just an example this effected low paid and anyone on pensions that are struggling to make ends meet people feel they now need a change

Many of the local government election results will not be declared until Monday / Tuesday. The General Election takes precedence ......... the same Returning Officers and counting staff are used for both.
