If at all the riots victims receive any justice, it will only be thanks to the judiciary. The Justice Srikrishan Commission specifically identified the culprits. As you correctly point out, the politicians for their own reasons, have failed to take any action. If I remember from that time there were strong rumours in the newspapers about Pawar not permitting the riots to be quelled because he wanted to topple the ineffective Sudhakarrao Naik. Later Pawar took over and did nothing. The SS/BJP govt went a step further by rejecting the report outright. The present Congress NCP coalition will not do much. The NCP are covertly eyeing a possible tie up with the SS so they would not want to topple the cart and without the NCP the Congress cannot do anything. Yesterday's DNA reported that Justice H Suresh who had tabled another report, said that FIR's should be immediately filed against the culprits and there is no need for any further inquiry. The HC has issued notice in the Mapkar case and the SC has issued notice in general, so let us see what happens. Today's newspapers also have a lot of reports. Teesta Setalvad has taken this up so maybe we can see some results, after all she did a good job in the Best Bakery prosecutions. All we as the ordinary public can do, is to constantly remind the media to keep focussing on this issue so that it does not get swept under the carpet. It was thanks to media support that the Jessica Lal and Priya Mattoo killers were eventually convicted.

Govt. could not allot names.
Name is a choice of family.
They can allot only Nnumbers like-
Hindu-1,hindu-3
Muslim-5
