National Election Results

Terry Said:

Do you think the election results will change anything at the national level?

We Answered:

Let's get busy and keep that from happening. The government is rife with corruption, and both parties are guilty. WE the PEOPLE have had enough, WE have made OUR voices heard during this election. Let's be clear, this is NOT a victory for the Republican party. What happened on Nov. 2, 2010, was a historical event that should remind ALL politicians & the government that THEY work for US!! For far too many years the American people have allowed the government to run amuck, and the results have been devastating. WE'VE been rudely awakened, thank God! WE have a LOT of work ahead of US to get OUR nation back on track. WE must continue to DEMAND that OUR voices are the ones that count, which means WE can't let up for one minute. The government has squandered OUR hard earned TRILLIONS, and THAT is proof enough that WE have to take the credit cards carte' blanche' away from these greedy bastards. It's OUR money, and WE want every dime accounted for!

Obama and his entourage of 3,000 or so, taking a trip on Nov. 6, that will cost the American people $200,000,000.00 per day, IS NOT a very good start. India want's to know what WE can do for THEM. They're suspicious about Obama's alliance with Pakistan, and they don't think the timing of his visit is good. I couldn't agree more. What do YOU think? We have to change our mindset when it comes to OUR government and DEMAND that OUR thoughts MATTER & COUNT! THEY WORK FOR US and WE can't afford 2 MILLION DOLLARS A DAY for Barry & Michelle to take their chefs, wardrobe & makeup artists on a trip to Mumbai!

How can WE the AMERICAN PEOPLE make sure our politicians hear us? Call, write, or visit EVERY DAY! Whatever you can do, whatever is within your means, make it a new habit to be in constant contact with your REPRESENTATIVES. The name speaks for itself, politicians are SUPPOSED to REPRESENT US!! WE can't EVER forget that again, WE can't afford to.

Here's a couple easy ways to start letting OUR representatives know what we EXPECT of them. THEY have to change their ways and WE have to MAKE them do it! Slack on this, and it will be business as usual. STOP with all the party division, the ONLY ones who benefit from dividing the American people are the politicians! UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL! We're ALL in this TOGETHER, this is OUR country, and WE are the ones that make America great. Now, let's get busy, we've got a lot of work to do.

The Influence of Religion in Voting and Election Results in the United States?

We Answered:

fanstastic topic! gonna be tuff to prove... however i submit that politicians can represent both our politics and religious concepts. i.e. i think you may be painting with too broad a brush to separate the two issues in all cases. certainly there is religious preference shown by some - remember the scrutiny Mitt Romney came under as being Mormon? and all the trepidation toward JFK as a Catholic? just to name a few. you may want to add a little regarding how religion has a negative affect on voting choices. for example, how nonthiests react toward politicians who spout religious beliefs/verbage. obviously, tho difficult to prove your thesis, it is nonetheless for real as it has merit...consider how difficult it would be for an openly non-religious person to attain public office. Rep. Pete Stark (CA) is the only openly athiest i am aware of. i would suspect there are many others who stay in the closet for fear of losing office. even Abraham Lincoln was a freethinker (nonthiest) who put on a religious face in the pursuit of his office - i can provide you w/ docs and bibliographies for that if u need. and many of our founding fathers were freethinkers as well - their writings/quotes are readily available online. Thomas Paine is a good source. amazing isn't it, that our country was founded on secular principles in an attempt to keep religion personal, but it still has it's ugly head in our way. good luck on your project!!!

Kevin Said:

what was the results and significance of national election year 1856, 1860, 1866, 1868, 1876?

We Answered:

Well, I'll try.
1856 - Buchanna's elections more or less led us to Civil War because of his inability to reach any kind of compromise with the opposing states.
1860 - Lincoln's election, based on anti-slavory and succession, led to that.
1866- I don't know. It was mid-term, and didn't mean much.

1868- Grant's election gave Northern rule over the South, however, Grant was sympathetic to the South, but couldnd't control Carpet Baggers and oppression.

1876- Ended "occupation" of the South. Hayes, a moderate was elected, and the South, more or less, was ignored.

Mario Said:

I'm looking for a radio station in Colorado Springs that will broadcast national election results all night.

We Answered:

Your local talk radio station will, I would think.

Ricardo Said:

Do you think the election results are very strange?

We Answered:

It would help if you cite which election you are talking about.
