Delores Said:

if the UK General Election 2010 ends in a hung Parliament, who's going to live in downing street?

We Answered:

Just to clarify... After becoming Prime Minister, Gordon Brown and his family did indeed move into No. 10 Downing Street. However, due to the fact that it's a listed building, he couldn't make the building more open plan, which he required for his new "war room".. As a result, he moved to No. 12. Btw, Tony Blair and his family lived at No. 11 (the Chancellor's usual home) because it had larger living premises needed for his family.

As to your question... Normally, the next PM would be the leader of the party with the most seats in the Commons. However, this doesn't look like it's going to be a usual election. So, if the Conservatives win the most votes and are the largest party in the Commons, it's likely that David Cameron would become PM.

However, if Labour come in 2nd or 3rd, but are still the largest party, then Brown may be forced out in order to gain Liberal Democrats' support in a vote of confidence. In which case, David Miliband might be the new Labour leader and next PM. Regardless, I don't see how Nick Clegg will be PM. However, don't be surprised if he's the next Home Secretary if there's a hung Parliament and Labour needs LD support.

Patsy Said:

Clara Said:

What is the difference between 2009 parliament elections and 2010 municipal elections?

We Answered:

Parliament elections are elections held to choose members of the parliament, that took place in 2009, the whole country voted the same day in the different governorates.
The municipality elections is being held in 2010 and started last sunday in the governorate of Jabal Lobnan (Mount Lebanon) and will take place this sunday in the governorate of Beirut then the following sunday in another governorate until they finish. In this election, the people choose their mayor and members of their municipality and the notaries of their city, each city in each district votes independtly.
I hope that made it a bit more clear.
