Gertrude Said:
How many more movie actors the likes of Lito Lapid would you vote as Philippine senator? We Answered:
No worries. I won't vote for people like him.Judy Said:
Hope for 2010?We Answered:
changing the president is actually not the solution to having green pasture we've always wanted.solution: consistent good-hearted leader,.. he/she that will never change when he/she will be on the presidential position.
besides, what you gonna do if you have good-hearted president when her "galamay"/members are the one's manipulating the system?!
so sad, but true. thus, whoever will be the president.. as long as they're gonna do their responsibility well,.. that matters most.
Jim Said:
What do you think is the top issue in our country today that the next Philippine president should address? We Answered:
Jobs, jobs, jobs! The people need jobs to earn a living and make our best and brightest less tempted to moving to different countries. Economics should be first and foremost so we can create a vibrant and powerful middle class to battle poverty and corruption. The "Anti-Corruption" platform has not done anything for the country. It is becoming a baseless campaign ploy, meant to trap the politically inexperienced into emotional fever. Remember, GMA battled corruption when she became president. Erap is corrupt therefore GMA is the solution. Before that, President Garica's administration is corrupt therefore Diosdado Macapagal is answer and then President Marcos is corrupt therefore Cory is the one. Now, it's GMA is corrupt therefore Noynoy is the solution. The country has been corrupt since Spain ruled our country.
Although I want good governance and no corruption in the government, I'm tired of all the dogs barking. Instead, I want to hear ideas on improving the country. Look forward instead of backwards.
It is very easy to criticize but hard to find solutions!
Connie Said:
would filipinos vote for someone who studied and have a degree in the best university in China? We Answered:
What specifically do you mean by 'Filipinos'? Because you see in the Philippines there are the wise Filipino voters and there are those who aren't. The main difference between the two lies in the criteria each use in supporting a particular candidate. The wise voters based their selections on the candidates' accomplishments, consistency of performance, education, and moral rectitude (this is apparent in his performance over the years as a Filipino and a politician or businessman or what have you). Of course, the not-so-wise voters don't even consider these criteria. Well, I suppose these voters base their selection on the popularity of the candidate and/or whether the candidate tops some surveys. For a wise Filipino voter, I think, a political science degree from a Chinese university SHOULD be a plus. One, pol sci is a very difficult course to study, to begin with. One has to have a very analytical mind in analyzing political phenomena vis-a-vis political theories and has to be up to date with current events. Two, the fact that a Filipino studied a college degree in a Chinese university ALREADY says something about the intelligence of the person. C'mon, it's very difficult to study the Chinese language, let alone study another discipline with Mandarin as the medium of instruction. Not only that, studying at Peking university is such an honor because I heard that there are only few people who are admitted there.
On the other side of the spectrum, there are the not-so-wise voters. Actually, it doesn't matter to them where the candidate graduated (Harvard o Oxford man yan) or whether the candidate even got into college. What they care about is the personality they see on tv.
Hopefully, there'll be more wise voters in the 2010 elections as well as more wise and morally upright candidates.
