Historically speaking whichever party is in the White House loses seats. So if one looks back at history, the democrats will lose seats in congress in 2010. This could be especially true if congress doesn't do anything. People already have a low confidence in them, so if things get worse the democrats could lose big time in 2010.Personally I don't see the democrats gaining seats simply because they've run on the anti-Bush theme for 8 years. Doing it in 2010 will not help them and it could really hurt them. In order not to lose a lot of seats the democrats have to come up with a true party Identity, which is not based on being anti-Bush.

I voted for Republican senators last time and will likely vote for Republican senators again, as I only voted for Obama because McCain was totally incompetent and dangerous in my opinion.So far the only ones who seem interested in returning industry and jobs back to the USA are several among the Republicans, with very few among the Democrats.

This election will set a new record for seats gained by Republicans or Lost by the Progressive Democrats. 78 seats gained or lost depending upon how one looks at it.
