Actually, the numbers are about even now, as today, three democrats (including Chris Dodd) have announced that they are retiring as well.I think the corruption is finally catching up with all of them - democrats and republicans alike. The American people are waking up to the fact that many of these career politicians have really been in it for themselves (their own power, wealth, perks...) rather than being in it to help their constituents and all of America.
It is time for fresh, uncorrupted representation. It is time for representatives who take their job seriously. And that job is to represent the American people.

The sex charges will negatively affect his electability now. That's life.
