Very few results come in before midnight.In the 2005 election, the first result to come in was at 10.45pm for Sunderland South, a safe Labour seat. In 2005, the first Tory gain came in at 1am. This time, there should be a number of interesting Lab-Con marginals declaring at around midnight. The Guardian in 2005 was watching Halifax, Derbyshire South and Birmingham Edgbaston. Torbay and Guildford are two Tory-LD marginals which traditionally declare early (but might be held up if there is a recount).
