Uk General Election

Joe Said:

What happens if a UK general election is a tie?

We Answered:

Hi Count Julius
They would have to form a coalition. If unable to do this then the previous Government would act as caretakers while another election was called.
Wouldn't it be mayhem!!
Best wishes.

Harold Said:

Is there much coverage of the UK general election in the US?

We Answered:

I lived in the US for years and was always shocked at how little coverage there is of other countries. Almost everywhere else people have some inkling as to what goes on in the rest of the world, especially a major power like England. Sadly most of the media in the states is sorely lacking.

The only good news I got when I lived there was bbc america, and National Public Radio.

So in short. No. 80% of Americans probably still think Blair is Prime Minister.

Stella Said:

What do Americans, Canadians, etc think of the the UK General Election?

We Answered:

I have been paying attention to your elections - but since I criticize non-Americans for trying to tell us who to vote for and how to run our country - I will refrain from saying which of your partys I feel is better for you.

Kathleen Said:

Do you think any small radical political parties will win any seats in the UK General Election?

We Answered:

I doubt it...Respect don't seem to be making so much of an impact now and I really hope the BNP don't win any seats. UKIP don't have enough support concentrated within an area to have a realistic chance of winning a constituency. Greens in Brighton are strong but they probably won't win.

Lillian Said:

UK General Election: What do Labour, Liberal Democrats and Conservative do/stand for?

We Answered:

There are no radical differences on the things that really count, All two and a half stand for:

The American Empire and British soldiers dying in Afghanistan for that empire.
International, free trade capitalism and economic migration, driving down workers' wages and piling up profits for banks and multinationals.
Making decent ordinary people pay for the damage done by criminal bankers, while letting those bankers and their institutions off scot free.
Economic growth as an end in itself, whatever the cost to society or environment.
Selling or hiring public utilities and public work to rapacious businesses that then provide an incompetent service at public expense.
Providing non-jobs for their corrupt cronies
Appointing private sector charlatans at huge expense to 'advise' on how to conduct public work

And I'm voting against all of this. I'm voting Green.

Randy Said:

Do you want the UK General Election to end in a hung Parliament?

We Answered:

the libs have been having a go at the tories every chance they get, me suspects lib/lab coalition, if it happens, the pollsters who say there will be a hung parliament (based on public opinion)believe it will be a con victory. the best result would be an out right victory in my opinion, but maybe its time to give hung parliament ago.

Discuss It!
