What Is A General Election

Tammy Said:

What would happen if a presidential candidate nominee dies befores the General Election?

We Answered:

They cremate his or her body and Keith Richards proceeds to snort their ashes.

Amber Said:

What is the possibility of having to have a second general election?

We Answered:

With more smaller parties being elected to the house of commons there is a higher possibility that some form of deal can be made. Even if this is a vote by vote deal. However, it does leave the 'government' open to losing a vote of confidence in the house of commons which will automatically trigger an election.

If all else fails a second general election is a distinct possibility. This will be a problem for smaller parties who don't have the money to run a second campaign etc. We also know that Labour are seriously short of money as a party which is why they have been ineffective against their cash line - the unions.

Majority governments are better as they are more stable (usually) as coalitions have a possibility of collapsing etc. With a majority government the government is what the majority of the public has voted for, with a coalition it is the politicians who chose the government not the electors as even if the Conservatives are the biggest single party we may still end up with a Labour/Lib Dem coalition.

Yes I know that other EU countries have coalitions which work but this is because they have far more parties. Many of whom have common principles and beliefs which makes coalition voting blocs easier to form. Our 3 party system does not really allow for this.

Edith Said:

What Most Important To You Having Obama the Nominee or Winning The General Election?

We Answered:

Evidently, it's not really up to us. They just want you to think it is.

Josephine Said:

What do you think about voter regret and how it will effect the General Election?

We Answered:

As time goes on, the truth always works it's way to the surface in life. obama and his catchy "change" slogan worked wonders at first, yet as time has shown obama is not all what he wanted us to believe he is. He is no JFK, he is no different than any other politician, yet may be worse. I am not surprised at what the questioner has heard, and am still surprised anyone really has strong beliefs in this man.

Cindy Said:

How many States will Obama lose in during the General election?

We Answered:

Racism no matter who it is coming from is never ok. As far as the states he will win or lose? Well its obvious that his weaknesses are the big states such as California, Texas, along with the prodominantly white states such as Kentucky, West VA. I think that if he is going to win, he needs to concentrate on regaining the working class's trust. If he can't do that successfully he will lose in a landslide to McCain..
