I will admit that most Americas, regardless of their political affiliation have it too good right now to go engage in a civil war. But that can all change rapidly as Obama's "Change you can believe in" takes place.

The military CANNOT legally be used against civilians. Most all of them know and understand that. What's more, I don't think most of them support the current administration which is trying to socialize our country and is an apologist for the US instead of being proud of the US.

If a civil war did break out I believe that a significant percentage of the military would side with the civilians and they take all the weapons and equipment they could with them.

The US Military might is a shadow of its former self thanks the Clinton years and now has only a little over 1 million members total. There are approximately 80 million legally armed civilians. I'd bet on the civilian population myself.
