Gop On Immigration Reform

"If we secure the border, then you all won’t have any reason to support ‘comprehensive immigration reform?"?We Answered:

What is going on with Immigration reform? We Answered:
Nutting happening till 2007--sorry dude. The 101st Congress has already packed and their just waiting for the moving vans to pick up their ****!! The recommendations of the 9/11 commission being initiated and carried out is the best we can hope for till after 2008. No candidate from either party is gonna stick his neck out on such an issue as to not jeopardize their party's chances at the Presidency in 2008. I would be very suprised, yet that much more encouraged, if a solution presents itself anytime before that. Securing our Borders without taking into account the Immigration issue seems impossible to me. Know this, if the GOP had a stance on the issue other than "hands off, illegals are cheap--exploitable replacement workers, reliable min. wage crop pickers, charge less to babysit my kids and clean house than child care centers and merry-maid, and do it all with out being significant at the polls" their stance will probably be whatever is opposite of the Dems.Patrick Said:
Healthcare reform, financial reform, immigration reform: Is there anything else that the GOP doesn't hate?We Answered:
The history of the USA is republican governments which spend, spend, spend (witness the TARP on top of illegal and unfunded wars, etc.) and democratic governments that dig the country out of the hole made by the GOP (the prosperous 1990s under Clinton). This group of republicans has decided that the way for them to succeed is to ensure that Obama fails, so they are firmly entrenched as the party of NO. They also have the far right foaming at the mouth at the thought of a black man as president, and don't dare agree with the democrats for fear of being Charlie Cristed.
For those of you who aren't following, Charlie Crist is the governor of Florida running for the Senate who is now losing a primary against Rubrio because he isn't far enough to the right. It may also be because he gave the president a hug when he announced stimulus funds for Florida.
The defacto leaders of the republican party (Limbaugh and Beck) have been pandering to the crazies and some of the crazies (Bachmann and Palin) have been ratcheting it up.
The short answer to your question is that the TARP is an embarrassment to the republican party so they are doing their usual re-write of history (don't get me started on that) and claiming it was Obama's initiative, not Bush's, and ignoring the fact that they all voted for it.

George W. Bush caves on his illegal immigration reform bill, says the NY Times, more leaks by Rove?We Answered:
I have not heard anything about this yet, is he going away from that stupid amnesty policy? I say we lay land mines at the borders, I think that would work wonders.Michelle Said:
Anyone notice that Obama,Clinton, & apparent soon to be GOP nominee McCAin all agree on immigration? We Answered:
I hate to break it like this, but Congress still holds the power to pass or not pass legislation. The President (whomever it might be) can submit their proposal and fight, cajole and coerce, but it will be in the hands of Congress.
