Actually, the Spanish-American War was financed with a monthly telephone tax that we still pay today.

But you are fundamentally correct.

At no time in human history has a country fought 2 wars and cut taxes for the top 2% of civilians at the same time. The aristocracy, ubber wealthy and major land owners have always paid more taxes during time of war.

For the most part the reason being, is they were the ones who ended up profiting from the war by gaining new lands, serfs, or at this point, owning stock in the military industrial complex.

Leave it to Bush to be the first to do otherwise.
