Louisiana, on the other hand, has a democratic governor who is unlikely to name a republican replacement if Vitter were to resign.

From the war to education to health care the new far left that have taken over the Democratic party are going to turn our once great country into a third world country which is their goal. As a professional african american i adhere to many of the issues of the gop but feel and know many in it would not readily accept me because of its long history of open racism and its acceptance of it.

It's hard to know for sure, but it will be impressive. My only worry is that a larger number of Republicans (majority?) will be able to revive the economy through tax cuts or other business-friendly legislation and then Obama will take credit for it and try to coast into the 2012 election.

I think for the most part, Washington as a whole is broken. We need honesty and integrity in government. We need term limits and an end to the way campaigns are funded. So to answer your question, yes, both sides are duped. We The People, have been forced to the back of the bus and are rarely heard. We need a viable 3rd party and a return to the intregity of our forefathers.
