I think outside of Foreign policy particularly the middle East and Afghanistan , no,nor the bail outs. However in terms of efforts to support Universal Health Coverage, increased taxes for the rich, environmental legislation, gay rights and civil rights in general, yes. I also approve of his Latin America policy . He doesn't go far enough but he certainly has toned down the volume of hostility.Some of the good steps were allowing more family visits to Cuba, opposition to the coup in Honduras, and less strident interventionism a great improvement compared to Bush. I think when he feels more politically secure he will support greater changes.o yeas the Democrats deserve applause especially since they are being sabotaged by a recalcitrant GOP.

What's a little financial scandal in the family to Republicans? Unless he is convicted of a felony, they won't care.

Within the party he was doing great keeping House Republicans focused on solidarity in voting against policies intended to help recovery, right up to the point where he criticized Limbaugh, the kiss of death.

Outside the party I think his appeal will be limited to people who like him for his looks. ?°)
