Because they are tired and want to retire, Unlike Democrats who are anointed for life and will have to be peeled from their seats of power by death or prison. Republicans can live without Washington DC and the Government paychecks. With the Democrats split, it appears a good time to retire and not have to worry about losing the seats to the DNC in November.

Am I the only one who thinks it's odd the contributions to the GOP were almost exactly 10% of the money supposedly transferred between the banks for night vision goggles? Sounds fabricated to me.

Very nicely done! I agree with you. Most of the Democrats don't really have anything literate to add to this kind of request. Mostly they just point their finger and say "you have corrupt politicians too". Well duhhh but where's the examples and substantiation as you so nicely included.

To just reiterate a little bit (maybe on a slightly different note), I received an email that was sent out by a Chicago police officer. He said that there was a new fashion statement for mug shots. (have you seen it?). It shows a whole slew of photos of mug shots with all of them wearing Obama t-shirts. He couldn't find any with McCain on the front. Hmmmm. Interesting isn't it?
