I go to college in Mississippi. And sociologists have actually found that Boston, Mass. is the most racist area in the nation. Sociologists have found the people in the north are just as racist as the people in the south. The difference is that the people in the south are more open about their racism where people in the north, while just as racist, refuse to admit it.

And racism is really nothing like television and hollywood portray it as. Whites and blacks get along just fine in the south. But in the end, it was the liberal party that supported them during the Civil Rights Movement. And it was the liberal party that supported the ending of slavery. And yes, there was still mass hypocrisy from the liberal party.

Racism isnt the black and white issue most people take it as (pun not intended). There are definitely shades of gray. Most blacks prefer living the South over the North (look at Morgan Freeman). Others are just too poor to leave. Frankly, it's easier to fix something if people are honest about it. People in the south, being openly racist will be able to solve the issues better. How can you solve a racist problem in the north if everyone denies they are racist?

Many all over the country are wondering the same. Some believe that the crooks went so far as to burn the voting machines in Houston rather than have their tinkering discovered. A group trying to prevent vote fraud have been sued by several groups that just happen to be predominately black. We have voted by mail several years and now I'm wondering if our vote even got counted. There is going to have to be a way figured out to verify that our votes are correct and included.

I think you are putting too much stock in talking heads, smear radio and YA politics.

By the time the convention is over, and Hillary gives the keynote address, and maybe an Obama/Hillary ticket and with the Hillary supporters that you think are screaming bloody murder, take a serious look at McCain, that few will side with the repugs.

BUT!!

With the outcome of the 08 election, and the repugs getting a serious shellacking, that they will be forced to go towards the center, which will mean they will dump the old guard in favor of the new moderate republicans that can work with the opposition.

America depends on a far more moderate stance in order to get the things done for our future.

Right now, we are so divided that not much of anything can get done.

I really wish the talking heads and smear radio would STFU for the good of America, that goes for the left as well as the right. They are probably the most divisive force in America, and the repugs have said they are going to use them for the 08 election.
