Possible Gop Candidates For 2012
Joel Said:
Who do you think is the most likely GOP candidate for president in 2012, and who would you like to see run?We Answered:
At this point, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee. Check back with me in 2012 though.Diana Said:
Does Sarah Palin have a strong chance of winning the GOP Primary 2012?We Answered:
Not a chance. The Republicans build up Sarah Palin for their own purposes, but they know she has no chance of beating Obama for a second term. Even 60-70% of REPUBLICANS don't believe she is qualified.Palin is not really a leader of the conservative movement or Tea Party or Republican Party. She's a 'spokesmodel'. Just like Ronald McDonald is a spokemodel for McDonalds. He's probably the best-known person at McDonalds, he brings in business, he represents the company to children worldwide. But you don't see him running for president of the company. 8^)
Running for president today all comes down to -money-. You have to have $50 million or more in your campaign chest just to -announce- your candidacy, or the media refuse to take you seriously. Usually the party leaders get together to decide who to run, and they line up all the money behind him. He announces his candidacy the firstest with the mostest, and from that point on the media crown him as the presumptive winner and treat all the rest like also-rans. This is is what happened with GW Bush in 2000 (and with Clinton in 1992). When it comes time to run, Palin will not be able to get the money behind her, the party will pick someone else.
As for RINOs, I think that talk is very misleading. ALL Republican candidates show an enormous gap between campaign talk and action once elected. Remember when GW Bush said he would make balancing the budget his first priority? Remember when he said he'd fight for tax cuts that went overwhelmingly to working people? Remember when he denounced 'nation building'? So was he a RINO -before- or -after- he was elected? 8^)
Todd Said:
Will the GOP offer a black or female candidate in 2012...?We Answered:
Race and gender should not be a factor in the decision. It should be based solely upon qualifications. Those who demand a person of one race or gender are clearly racists and have absolutely no respect for the words of MLK.Joan Said:
Lately each person touted as a possible GOP candidate for 2012 has been shot down with scandal...?We Answered:
Oh looky, another "joke" of a question for Mr. Know It All. I just love how you back up your claim of scandals with facts. Palin dropped out as Gov yet that is not a scandal. So what's your point?Benjamin Said:
Are there ANY Republican candidates that aren't bound to "doom their chances" in 2012?We Answered:
There are many Republican politicians I would consider, but they don`t run. I suppose they don`t want to end up like Ron Paul which was ignored and many times left out of debates on the last presidential election. Of those you listed I would consider giving Romney a chance.Steve Said:
I'm in a moral dilemma about the 2012 Election? We Answered:
You are seriously confused. You don't even know who is running so you can't possibly have an issue at this point. You know nothing about my city and NOTHING at all about what New Yorkers actually think of Rudy so don't use your confused beliefs to decide who to vote for based on my city and its former mayor. Do ya really think it was so smart to put a terrorism command and control center in a high rise which then mysteriously collapsed - we New Yorkers who lived near and worked in that building certainly don't think so and don't buy the "reasons" for it's collapse. The Donald is an ego maniac who is very good at making and losing lots of money - but brilliant? You must lead a sheltered life. As for abortion - you and your friends need to get it through your heads - THE REPUBLICAN PARTY DOES NOT WANT TO STOP ABORTION - THEY WILL NEVER SERIOUSLY TRY TO DO SO as evidenced by the fact that they did not try during the Bush admin and he did not make it a priority at all even though he CLAIMS to be a pro life born again Christian and was elected by the anti abortion folks who he then turned his back on. SO your main voting tool is useless because abortion will never be outlawed so don't vote at all if your only criteria is someone who will not "allow abortion to go on" - it is a constitutional right to privacy and self determination that a President cannot revoke from female citizens. You sound like someone who is going to get to vote for the first time in 2012. I am glad you are excited but try getting a little education between now and then - your arguments against Romney and Huckbee are empty and senseless. One thing you need to learn is that a living breathing human being has rights that a fetus does not - anyone who tries to put the "rights" of a non-viable potential human over the rights of a citizen should be deported to an island far away from intelligent and civilized people. No one wants or likes abortion and the rate has fallen dramatically since the 80s - accept that as a victory and find something useful to crusade about - something important that will actually make and impact and change lives for the better. Good luck.
