Republican Party Beliefs

Rebecca Said:

How can the Republican party attempt to out law abortion because of their personal religious beliefs?

We Answered:

I see it the same way. They say It's Gods will that conception is a life.

I don't believe either.

Sharia Law would never happen here, too many real illegalities.

Doris Said:

Could you please tell me all I need to know about the Republican party, preferrably from a Republican?

We Answered:

It's complicated. The short version is the Republican party is pro-military-, anti abortion, anti gun control, mixed on immigration, small government, fewer taxes etc. Where they stand on the war is mixed, mostly supportive.

Salvador Said:

Did anyone else see where Pat Buchanan said the republican party could no longer?

We Answered:

I would disagree with that. While the Democrat party seems to be in control, but it seems to me that the republican party is more unified. Most of the members of the republican party share the same beliefs:prolife, pro-gun, less government, less taxes, against illegal immigration. The Dems have a lot of issues: Gay rigths, abortion rights, free healthcare for all, etc., but they are much less unified. You are much more likely to find a democrat disagreeing with a republican on 2-3 issues, but agreeing with everything else.

The trouble with the Republican party ATM is leadership. There isn't any to speak of. People have great ideas, but are too chicken to put them in real life. If you think Bush was 100% conservative, you are wrong. He did a lot of things that made his base angry. Same thing goes for the House of Reps 2000-2008. They ran on a lot of promises, but few were put to life.

What the party needs right now are new, younger, more inspirational faces. I mean John Mccain? Rudy Guilliani? Come on...

Adam Said:

Would the republican party be better off if they stopped trying to legislate their religious beliefs?

We Answered:

We rarely agree on anything, but I'm with you on this one. If the god damn "Religious Right" would stop hijacking my political party and turning it into some kind of crazy anti-abortion, anti-stem cell, homophobic, creationism versus WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED (evolution) party, the Republicans wouldn't be so stereotyped.
