I hope it wasn't the real one, I wanted more time to get this point across to the Senators....

The Democrat SPENDULUS package is terrible.

There are very few elements of conservatism/common sense, if any, in this bill.

Common sense dictates that when you are in an economic or financial downturn you DO NOT spend more money, you save money by spending less and doing whatever it takes to take-in more money.

There would be a great amount of business investment if business taxes were lowered. More businesses would invest, thus more tax revenue for the government.

There would be a great amount of public spending if people had more money in their pockets, more money would be going to businesses via private purchases, thus more tax revenue to the government.

Lowering taxes and leaving more money in peoples' pay checks would yield IMMEDIATE economic stimulus, unlike the slow process of government programs and work projects.

Remember, the FDR public works spending and entitlement programs LENGTHENED the Great Depression, it did not shorten it.

Please don't help the United States make the same foolish mistakes.

Please vote AGAINST the Democrat/Obama SPENDULUS package.

Well, the way McCain made his comments you have to wonder whether he endorsed it or decried it. I have watched the video ten times and still don't know whether he agrees with it or not. That is the sign of the ultimate politician, talk for twenty minutes and not say anything.

You do know that there are laws on the books that make it illegal for companies to do that right? Why make another law, it's redundant and not needed. If a woman, or a man, is raped then it is their right to report it. No matter what the company says. If the company then fires the employee for reporting said rape, then the employee has another case, they can sue that company for wrongful termination.

As everything else is in Washington, it is complicated. Apparently the bill would not extend some tax reduction plans for the wealth, approved under the Bush Administration like the Estate Tax.

One difficult-to-negotiate issue for Reid has been the treatment of expiring policies involving Medicare payment to doctors, the estate tax, and the alternative minimum tax.

"While an extension of middle-class tax cuts championed by President George W. Bush _ including rate cuts and a larger child tax credit _ would be exempt from the pay-as-you-go rules, others would get only a short-term reprieve.

Under an agreement between House and Senate Democrats, efforts to cut the estate tax and keep millions of middle-to-upper income filers from being hit by the alternative minimum tax would be exempt from the pay-as-you-go rules for just two years."
