I dont think we expect less. Obama still has not provided a valid certificate of Birth to prove he has even constitutionally able to hold the office he does. The Tea party is pretty clear about their objective, they want to get back to the constitution and feel currently we are 180 degrees from it by ignoring voters and the people who elected the career politicians.

All of them except O'Donnell, actually having to work would spoil her perpetual candidate scam. That is also why she does not want to win this election, because if she wins she will actually have to show up and work. As a candidate she can pay herself the salary of the office she is running for out of her campaign funds and only have to show up at campaign headquarters once a month for most of the year.

While your question directs us toward the answer, there is a larger question. It is hard generalize what you know about me, if I identify with the tea party movement. Lets think about what motivates the tparty movement. There are disgruntled voters. There are voters who needed jobs, a better economy, real changes in healtcare. They put their hope into the Democratic party and now there are no results. The middle class is disappearing. People are pretty rational when things are going well. At this point we can talk about ideology. But what happens if you are someone who wants to work, wants to pay your house payment, wants to support your children but you cannot because of your job situation. If the job situation does not get better, you start wondering about candidates. You may not be looking at specifics but all you know is that the Republican and the Democratic parties are entrenched. At the same time, the middle class is disappearing and fewer of those folks are going to the rich side. So there are more poor people and the rich people seem to be running the country. Until we regain the middle class, it is pretty easy to see that people are supporting candidates outside the two party system. You are looking at it from the stand point of good candidates. The real question is what constitutes good candidates and what are candidates from other parties doing besides not appearing 'nuts' . It is not about being nuts or not being nuts. It is about what our elected officials are doing for the large majority of the voting population. IF the answer is nothing, it is rational to vote for a tea party candidate.

I want to say none too but now all of them have a chance because neocons are throwing their own incumbents under the bus 2 but in some cases like Alaska. The tea party candidate might split the vote and hand the win to a dem. If the GOP get control will they finally have to do some work or still be the party of No? They say they're going to repeal everything and go back to the Bush years that go us in a recession but that's America and whites are the majority. So when things go downhill, they can't blame black people. †
