What Is The Tea Party

Ruby Said:

How many Tea Party Haters have ever gone to a rally to see what it is all about?

We Answered:

I am not a hater, I am a "member". I have been to a couple and will be going to another one on April 15th. The people at the rallies are really middle America. A wide variety of colors, wealth and personalities. The common thread was the patriotism, the MANNERS and the shared goal of taking our country back.

Clinton Said:

What is the best way to market my tea party hats?

We Answered:

If you make hats, you might want to concentrate on just that. I noticed that you sell tea party supplies, etc. It costs you money to purchase them and keep them on hand where as the hats you can make on-demand. Also if you branch out from such a single theme you will reach a wider potential buying audience. Also, if you did this it would necessitate a name & domain change to reflect the hats only theme.

You can make hats with themes. (Birthday--have a mini cake on it, etc., Red Hat Group--Go for flowers, etc. in their theme, Bridal Shower, Retirement, Baby Shower, etc.). That way people who might not have a tea party but rather a celebration which they may want to purchase a single hat for the birthday girl or bride to be, etc. It would still keep you in the hat making area, but would give you a wider range of products.

Also, look into a product to color your basic hats before decorating them. That way you can still purchase the plain hats at a lower cost, but be able to offer a range of colors. Make sure whatever dye/color agent you use is colorfast and will not run if it gets wet.

You can write to "how to" sites that put up links to places where you can purchase supplies. (Then go to birthday, tea party, etc. whichever ones fit your hat themes.) You can continue to sell on ebay or try a handmade craft selling site like http://www.etsy.com. Or you can opt for putting up a shopping cart on your own site to help reduce costs. Blogs are really big. If you keep one and write about creating the hats and then showing photos of them in action, etc. you may attract buyers that way.

I hope these suggestions help!

We Answered:

The GOP wasn't founded by Fox News.

Jerry Said:

What's the difference between the Tea Party and the Libertarian Party?

We Answered:

You are confusing the compass model of American Politics for the linear model of American Politics.

Tea Party's are ultra-conservative Republicans who are upset at the Obama administration. They are economically conservative (To an extent) and they are socially conservative as well.

Libertarians on the other hand are economically conservative (Like Republicans) and socially liberal (Like Democrats). For examples, see Ron Paul.

Where as the Tea Party wants a better government, we Libertarians believe that government is usually the problem. Although true Libertarian philosophy is essentially anarchy, its practical application usually involves a very limited government and, in America, a strong focus on a state's power over the fed's power.

I really don't know why Libertarians are stereotyped as super-Republicans. We support Gay Marriage (Actually, we don't support the government recognizing or regulating marriage as anything more than a legal contract), we support legalization of several recreational drugs and we do not support the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan. In fact, Ron Paul (Who is a Libertarian-Leaning Republican) is one of the only members of Congress to vote against the war in Iraq.

Aaron Said:

What is the Tea Party's plan to put an end to the corruption of unnecessary pork barrel overspending?

We Answered:

First the tea Party isn't an official political party. They use the name to emulate the feeling of the Boston Tea Party ( historical). They have no track record as a party as they are unofficial. What is commonly referred to as the Tea Party, is a group of citizens with other official political affiliations, who are dissatisfied with the current political situation and the current Congressional habits. Most sympathizers have never been to a rally. Those who have are just a drop in the bucket. The only policy they have is to vote out those who are out of touch with main stream America. There isn't any better policy anywhere.
