Online degree????

We Answered:

Although I understand that adults have difficulties in finding the necessary time to pursue higher education, I simply cannot see the value in an online school degree.

Now, for vocational oriented jobs the perspective may change a bit. If your interest is in Medicine and you have some college background, I think you'll be much better off pursuing adult "continuing education" programs at some of the well known universities in the U.S. Of course, accessibility to these institutions will depend on where you reside.

2nd college degree or certificate online in finance?

We Answered:

I have my B.A. in English and am going back for my master's in accounting this year. I have never taken a business or accounting class in college, but it is something that I've always wanted to do. I've been accepted into the program, but because I have a B.A. I need to take 1 year of prerequisite business and accounting classes, then finish my 1 year for my master's degree (2 years total). You can definitely get your MBA or MS if you want to, you just need to take some prerequisites first. But you can be accepted into the program without them. A certificate would get you no where. I live in Chicago so I'm not sure about NY schools, but do research on their graduate programs. I'm sure there is something.

Anyone have first-hand Online College/Degree experience? Anyone ever hear of Empire State College?

We Answered:

I do not know much about ESC. But what i can tell you is that acquiring an online degree would definately be valued by employers. The recognition for online learning has improved and at the present time employer's consider online degrees on the same footing as traditional school based degrees. Online education credits are transferable so you need not worry about transfering your degree if you go for higher education. An entire list of accredited and affordable online colleges and universities is available at http://www.onlineedublog.com/ so all you need to do is go through their reviews and decide where you wanna study :)

corpsman taking online college classes?

We Answered:

With all due respect...
In a direct answer to your question...yes you can find time
to take On Line College courses...
It is obvious that you really have no idea what your duties
as Corpsmen will entail or anything about Military life...
"IF" you become a Corpsmen and are assigned to the Fleet
(Ships) most large ships have Civilian Teachers aboard
that will assist you with your studies...
If you are assigned as a "Field Medical Corpsmen"
(The Marines)you will take training with Marines as
an Infantrymen would...
Best stay WIDE AWAKE and try and learn everything those Marines are trying to teach you as it just might keep you alive...
Rest assured that you have a 98% Chance of going to Iraq/Afghanistan...while on Operation's you will have no chance to study...while not on Operations you will have
plenty of time to do your courses...
Being stationed with a Marine outfit as a "Corpsmen"
in Combat will be the "High Point" of your life...
You must rememer that your Primary job is not taking
college courses...but being a Medic to Marines...
Most Corpsmen I have & now know were always
"THE BRAVEST OF THE BRAVE" and were
dedicated practitioners of their craft...
The additude will need a lot of ajustment just
to get along in any Marine outfit...

When I was in Vietnam 68-70 we always said
the reason that there was always a US Navy
Corpsmen with us...was so that they could
read us our mail...then write letters back for us...
As they could actually use a Ballpoint pen...
instead of the Crayola's they gave us would
melt and make a mess...LOL

Has any one attended Saint Leo Online University?

We Answered:

Yes, Saint Leo is an accredited university. I am taking online courses through them and LOVE it. I like that they keep the class sizes small so you can always get in touch with a professor, and I have called the main campus and actually talked to a live person!!! I can honestly recommend Saint Leo 100%.
