Australian Liberal Party

Mary Said:

Should the Australian Liberal Party use spin to try and win the Federal Election?

We Answered:

What sort of nonsense is this? Are you honestly suggesting that the Liberal Party has never used spin?

During the next election campaign, the vast majority of voters will be interested in the issues affecting (not 'effecting') them, and they will turn to politicians, among other sources, for relevant information. The politicians from both major parties will provide that information in a way that emphasises what they see as the most popular aspects of their candidates and their policies.
If you think either party will be objective and impartial during its campaign (or that they ever have) then you're insane.

Allan Said:

What is the difference between the Australian Labour Party and the Australian Liberal Party?

We Answered:

The Australian Labor Party (ALP) is an Australian political party. Founded in 1891 by the emerging labour movement in Australia, it is the country's oldest political party having contested seats at the 1901 federal election following the federation of Australia. The party currently competes with the Liberal/National coalition for political office, particularly at the federal and state level. Labor has formed the federal opposition since 1996 after holding government since 1983. Labor has held government in all six states and both mainland territories since 6 March 2002, one month after the 2002 South Australian election. Should Labor gain 16 additional seats to form government at the 2007 federal election, the party's current federal parliamentary leader Kevin Rudd will become Prime Minister of Australia.

The Liberal Party of Australia is an Australian political party.
Founded a year after the 1943 federal election to replace the United Australia Party, the Liberal party competes with the Australian Labor Party for political office. In federal politics, the Liberal Party has held power since winning government in 1996 after having been in opposition since 1983, and governs in its traditional coalition with the National Party. However, in state politics, as of the 2002 South Australian election, the Liberals have been in opposition in all six Australian states and two mainland territories.
The party's current federal leader is John Howard who will be contesting the 2007 federal election for a fifth consecutive term as Prime Minister of Australia. The party's National President is Chris McDiven.

Stacy Said:

What are your views on the Australian liberal party?

We Answered:

Na Na Na Hey Hey Good bye, no way mate,it was good to see them voted out.

Debbie Said:

What makes the Australian Liberal party so Liberal?

We Answered:

It's all just semantics. What's liberal to some is radical or conservative to others. Australia, from what I know (which is not much), seems to be generally a bit more conservative as a whole compared to the United States. Whereas, compared to the rest of the industrialized world, we are quite conservative.

Tommy Said:

Why is the Australian Liberal Party less liberal than the Labor Party?

We Answered:

Because the Liberal Party is economically Liberal and socially Conservative, whereas Labor is economically Liberal (since the reforms of the Hawke/Keating governments) and less socially Conservative.

I agree with Molly. Labour is little more than the Liberal Party with a human face.

Martin Said:

Can the Australian Liberal Party represent the interests of the working class?

We Answered:

Yes - enterprising, aspirational and hard-working working class people.

Kirk Said:

What is wrong with the Australian Liberal Party?

We Answered:

I know what you mean. They really should of given Howard the boot and put Costello in charge.
