Best liberal arts colleges in the west?We Answered:
Outside of California, the best in the West are, in order per the US News list, Colorado College, Reed College, Willamette University, Lewis & Clark College, and University of Puget Sound.Having spent one semester at Reed before I transferred to a school which I liked much better, I would personally omit Reed from the list. In my opinion Reed has a very confining environment, too many student cliques, and a faculty which does not give the individual academic support to students which should be offered at a liberal arts college.

I honestly think, though, that you should just start investigating any that appear interesting to you and go where you feel most comfortable. they all teach the same stuff, none of them are the best for any reason other than reputation (which is partly mythical)...
i attended the one where i felt most at home, it was ranked at about 100th -- but because i liked it so much and did so well, i was able to go from there to a top ten graduate program. What matters is not where you go, but how well you do while you're there.
they're all the same, honestly, the teachers will be just as good at 100 as at 10 (speaking from experience, they are sometimes *better* at 100 than at 10). decide based on size, campus facilities, location location location, acceptance rates into grad programs,
basically choose based on getting to know a school really well - don't choose because of a magazine's rankings.
good luck

What are the best liberal arts colleges in the US?We Answered:
There is no such thing as the "best" for any degree as each offers a different version of the same thing. Go talk to your local universities and colleges and see what they have to offer. Find the one that will let you get out in the real world as fast as possible and as cheap as possible as this will be of the most benefit to you. Businesses don't care where your degree is from, only that it is an accredited school. Podunk U is just as good as Yale to 99.99% of businesses and HR departments.Juan Said:

How does Top Liberal Arts colleges rank vs. Top Universities for graduate programs? We Answered:
Nice aspirations. However, don't judge a university based on its rankings. Much of the rankings nowadays are inaccurate and do not represent the listed universities as a whole. Do take financial aid into consideration--will you leave college debt free? Or will you toil for many hours to pay off an expensive, on many occasions, undergraduate degree that is not as important as a a graduate degree? UCLA is a fine undergraduate university, especially for students who are on the pre-med track. Remember, your graduate degree is what counts. If you go to an expensive, cut-throat, private, liberal arts college, and receive a 3.5 as opposed to attending a public institution or a cheaper one of the like and get a 4.0, your chances will be higher with the 4.0. However, make the best of your choices and good luck!
