I think it's part of human nature to push things as far as you can. It's just like children do. They push the limits to: (a) find out where they are; and (b) as a necessary step in their development. When adults (parents) are healthy functional human beings, they don't let anyone push limits beyond what is healthy for the society. Sadly, we don't have too many healthy functional adults or parents.

No! Jesus is a limited government kind of guy. He never appealed to the Roman government to feed or clothe the poor. He instead encouraged generosity and charity to family friends and neighbors in need.

It is not society's role to forgive or not forgive someone but to uphold laws of the land. Jesus told us to be good citizens and follow the laws under which we live..and that includes accepting the consequences when you do something wrong
