Why are the Democrats always crying intolerance?

We Answered:

These people "feel" they are chosen, to moralize, that they know better than we what is right or wrong, they wants us to be free, to be moral and good, of course it is purely based on their definition of free, moral and good.

What has been lost in the discussion is the fallacy of collectivism and the juxtaposition of free versus the good of the whole. A better question could be how do people lose their moral compass, how can they feel that the end justifies the means, that taking from one to help others is right, it is a tale of hypocrisy.

Taken in light of "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the—if he—if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not—that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement", if you can parse the english language like that and people think it is okay, well folks the compass is broken.

Gene Said:

Who do you think the higher percentage of people with a true conscience fall under? Conservatives or Liberals?

We Answered:

Both. There are good conservatives and good liberals - this isn't about us vs. them, it is about WE.....you know, the UNITED States of America. Liberals keep the conservatives in line, and conservatives keep the liberals in line. Things usually stay in the 'moderate' range. That is the beauty of the American system.

Denise Said:

Anyone read Paul Krugman's book "The Conscience of a Liberal?"?

We Answered:

Krugman began not as a liberal but as a financial expert, an economist, writing a column for the New York Times on the economy. When President Bush came to office and began mishandling the economy so badly, Krugman was critical of him (and of course he still is).

Today, anyone who criticizes a Republican is labeled a 'liberal'. But Krugman's message is not really even political, it's just about economic issues.

I think he's a very good writer and very good at explaining things. And I usually agree with him.

The Republicans used to be the party of fiscal responsibility, but since Reagan that hasn't been true. Bush has shown incredible fiscal irresponsibility. VP Cheney said 'President Reagan showed us that deficits don't matter'. He denied having said it, but of course the administration's actions speak louder than words. Bush is the first president ever to insist on big tax cuts during an expensive war. We are so far in debt that our currency is losing its value.

And yet, people who criticize Bush are just bashed by conservatives as 'liberals', by which they mean that whatever they say doesn't matter. 8^<
