WHY??? Do you conservatives keep insisting that the shooter was a liberal? The early evidence (and we may never know what his true motivations were) does not show him to fully fit either ideology. That he loves guns, and hates government points to extreme right wing philosophy.On the other hand reading Marx and The Communist Manifesto points to extreme left wing philosophy. In reality he is probably just a psychopath. As far as blaming Conservatives for their deliberate polarization of middle America, all Americans need to realize that HATEFUL RHETORIC does have consequences. Miss Giffords own father stated that she had received many threats. We do not know the shooters political beliefs and we possibly never will, but, constant exposure to anti-government messages including Sarah Palins cross-hairs, Sharon Angles' "second amendment solutions",and constant conspiracy theories from Glenn Beck, and others may very well be a part of the motivation that drives a disturbed individual to violence.
The extreme polarization of this nation that we are experiencing today is of deliberate design. The wealthy elite realize that if the middle and lower classes were unified then their votes would would be more powerful in a Democratic election than all of the money that the elite can throw at our political system.
