Salvador Said:

Liberal vs Labor voters on answers ...?

We Answered:

Yes, very nicely put, however I'm not done gloating yet.

Jorge Said:

Pros and cons of labour vs liberal?

We Answered:

Rather than asking us, who have our own political biases I'd investigate yourself.

Tyler Said:

Labour + Libdem Vs Conservative (Torries)?

We Answered:

No it wouldn't.
The Liberal Democrats have their own agenda which they want implemented and seek to maximise their vote.
What happens in the event of a hung parliament - still a possibility - that's when they might consider coalition.
Why give away their bargaining power before they know how strong each party is?
Oh,and they don't trust New Labour!

Calvin Said:

Liberal vs. conservative family values?

We Answered:

I'm in my 60's and lived through the women's rights movement. One of the main goals of the women's movement here was to encourage women to work, get the same pay for that work as men, and for women to enter into professional fields which was rare before the 70's. In view of that, comparing the US to the situation in Russia isn't possible. Women here "wanted it all". You still hear that phrase about women in this country.

With a 50% divorce rate, women have to be able to support themselves and often their children. At the same time that women entered the work force in droves, the divorce rate went up. I was pleased to see that women were finally given a choice but that choice often doesn't exist because it now takes two incomes to live the lifestyles they seek. There is no job security anymore. When I entered the workforce in 1965, some of the people where I worked had been there since they were 16, 50 years or more. That just doesn't happen anymore.

It isn't capitalism that is causing this. Do you really want to have your choices removed? Capitalism wasn't the problem since it is what made our country prosperous before the women's movement.

Is the Liberal vs Conservative definition today contrived?

We Answered:

ONE OF THE BEST QUESTIONS I HAVE SEEN YET ON YA!!

Thanks for this question, it's intelligent and thought-provoking. We might actually learn something or at least engage in civil debate.

My parents and my wife's parents (all WWII generation) would say that your statement is correct about the way Dems and Reps. used to be, in the good old days.

Amazing how things have changed, but then again, things have changed based on our perception.

Karl Rove has guided losers into winners in elections by divide-and-conquer, fear, and smear tactics, basically by making people afraid or angry at something that was a minor issue and then dividing those that responded to his attacks from those that didn't, effectively putting the underdog candidate into one of those categories and giving him a fighting chance of winning.

In other words, what unites us is much stronger than what divides us, but to win an election these days, you must concentrate on your party's devisive issues to get your intended supporters on board.

Fear, smear, attack and negative ads work. It's a shame but its reality.

Sandra Said:

What do you think of the current opinion polls on Kevin Rudd vs Tony Abbott, Labor vs Liberal Parties?

We Answered:

That's about right, there is usually a half way split between the parties. And Abbott, well just listen to the guy and you'll understand why they need a new leader if they want any chance of winning an election

Leonard Said:

Are the Dems Getting Nothing Done due to Major Infighting in the Party?

We Answered:

The Dems in Congress are led by a Grandmother. That's why nothing is getting done. And this Grandmother is in Bush' s back pocket.
