Dude, you have your premise all screwed up. Liberals and government jobs do not involve thinking. They involve doing as little as possible for the most money stolen by the unions by force of strikes, with lifetime payment for nothing and benefits unavailable to the normal private sector worker. Further, the government job cannot fail to make payroll because you and I pay it. Success in governmental jobs is based upon political good old boy cronyism.

You can't make judgments based on the individuals who sit in power at any given moment; you have to look at the overall direction of policies. For example, the Canadians have had a national health policy for ages, and they're still arguing about it in the the US. The Canadians have a far more generous program of social welfare programs; and in the US people are limited to only 5 years.

Also, the policies of the Conservatives in Canada are not the same as Conservatives in the US. The Conservatives of Canada are actually very similar to the Democrats in the US. Whoever the Americans voted into office, the fact is, as a nation, they're far more conservative as a people than the Canadians, and far less likely to accept increased government involvement in their lives.
