Liberal Arts And Sciences Test
Eva Said:
Is the Liberal Arts and Science Test that teachers must take anything like the S.A.T or A.C.T?We Answered:
SAT and ACT are more aptitude tests, whereas the certification tests that teachers take are more contents-oriented tests for knowledge. The best thing to do is to look up your state teaching certification tests, and get a sample exam for practice. Different states adopt different certification exams. The PRAXIS exam is adopted by about 20 different states, and you can look at examples of that athttp://www.ets.org/praxis
Tom Said:
How can I pass the Liberal Arts and Science Test?We Answered:
study hard, take the testArthur Said:
Is there a test like the GED which certifies bachelor degree status? We Answered:
A bachelor's degree is not a general education degree. There are plenty of these tests available, but none will be from accredited institutions. Diploma mills (for-profit universities) would be the ones offering such a service. If you don't care if the degree is respected, start with schools such as DeVry or the University of Phoenix. Expand your search from there. Of course, these places will charge you a sizeable fee.Jeffery Said:
New York State Teacher Liberal Arts and Science Test (LAST)?We Answered:
I passed all of my test the first time around...I've NEVER been a "test taker". I've just learned some great strategies. So this test is basically like taking the SATs all over again to be honest. If my memory serves me correctly you will have ela, math, science, social studies, fine arts, and an essay (I believe persuasive writing piece).
Make sure:
-You must know the basics of all subjects. There is a study guide on the NYSTCE website listed below.
-Go to Barnes and Noble or the library and review the study guides there (that's what I did). Bring a paper and pencil.
-Learn test taking skills and strategies..this will take you a long way on all the test to come.
-DO NOT DRINK COFFEE the day of the test...lol...gives you the jitters!
Shirley Said:
Is Liberal Arts and Sciences a wrong choice? I want to major in psychology but...?We Answered:
If they don't offer a specific psychology major, chances are good they will not be giving you the preparation you need to apply to graduate programs in psychology. Grad programs in psychology are very competitive - you don't want to blow your chances by not even majoring in psychology.Diana Said:
What's the maximum amount of points you can earn on an NYS teacher certification exam? Got 276 on LAST?We Answered:
I couldn't find anything on the website but I do believe it is out of 300. You should have received a detailed score report (mine's from YEARS ago and I can't find it) that will help you interpret the score. Congratulations!
