Rene Said:

Deanna Said:

Can someone please tell me is Natural Science, Literature Arts & the Humanities are they Social Science course?

We Answered:

In Science, the term natural science refers to a naturalistic approach to the study of the universe, which is understood as obeying rules or laws of natural origin. The term natural science is also used to distinguish those fields that use the scientific method to study nature from the social sciences and the humanities, which use the scientific method to study human behavior and society; and from the formal sciences, such as mathematics and logic, which use a different (a priori) methodology.

Rachel Said:

is art considered as a liberal arts course?

We Answered:

In many schools art is considered "Fine Art", along with music, sculpture and possibly others.
Liberal Arts is usually the classification of everything that isn't a science: languages, English literature, social sciences such as sociology, economics, or geography, philosophy, religion, and more.

Ray Said:

Leslie Said:

What is included in Liberal Arts course?

We Answered:

Well, I'm at a Liberal Arts university-- a Catholic one at that.
For us, our Liberal Arts education includes many classes completely unrelated to our intended majors, simply to help us become well-rounded human beings (or at least that is what they tell us).
As an example, I am a double major in Business Administration and Economics. In addition to all of the classes pertaining to my major and basic prerequisites, I have to take a natural science course, two theology courses, psychology, philosophy, a fine arts course, various interdisciplinary courses (for example, the one I am in right now covers Evolution vs. Creationism) which could be about any topic really.
I see how it could be a good thing, and the whole idea of a liberal arts education is highly regarded, but it is kind of annoying because it means that you do have to take random extra courses.

Jessie Said:

how would the study of liberal arts course benefit my career?

We Answered:

Depends on your career choice and your choice of liberal arts courses. Some liberal arts courses are designed just to give you experience in different, not necessarily scientific or math areas. See fine arts, religion, political science etc. Other classes could fit very well into a certain career path. Take a business degree, a philosophy class or two could greatly benefit you, as the point of those classes is to study great thinkers of the past and also teach the students to become thinkers (maybe not on of the stated curriculum objective, but show me one person who has taken a philosophy class and has changed the way they think even a little and I will show you a liar). A lot of businesses are now looking for outside the box thinkers. Also some Liberal Arts classes will not benefit the student in any way other than fulfilling a requirement. When deciding which class to take see if it will work into your degree in any way, if you can't find one then look for a class that will broaden your horizons.
