Math For Liberal Arts Question!!! Help Please!?We Answered:
You have nine stones.Divide them up into sets of three.
Weigh two sets of three on one scale, if it's balanced, you know that the heavier stone is in the set which you did not weigh. If it's unbalanced the stone is in the set which is heaviest.
Now take the 3 stones you selected and go to the next balance, Weigh only two of them, if it's balanced, then your stone is the one remaining. If they're unbalanced then you have found your stone.

what graduate program oppurtunities does a liberal arts major with a minor in biology have?We Answered:
Some grad programs (MBA, MLS, many humanities programs) accept students from any undergraduate major depending on their GPA and GRE scores. Other grad programs (math, science, engineering) expects a specific major or at least a lot of coursework in that particular field, good GPA and GRE scores, and often research experience as well.Grad programs in math, the sciences, and engineering often pay YOU to go to grad school, paying your tuition and a small salary while you take classes in return for working as a TA or research assistant. These stipends are not as often found in the humanities.

If I Transfer into a Nursing Program elsewhere with a Liberal Arts Degree, Can I Get A Bachelor's Degree? We Answered:
First of all, you need to realize that being an Associates Degree RN is NOT the same as being a full RN with a bachelor's in RN. See the attached article. Most schools will not grant you 18 hours transfer credits, and do not allow many upper level courses away from the campus. My first recommendation would be to talk to your college advisor about graduation requirements. Odds are most of your credits at nursing school will not count toward your BA unless you have quite a few elective credits still available to you.
So, 18 hours short, you will NOT be awarded an Associates degree from a senior college. You will, instead, be 18 hours short of graduating - a college drop out, in their eyes.
Here's my recommendation - go and talk to a school with a full, Bachelors RN program. Seems like your own college has one, and they would be the most receptive to allowing you to count hours toward both degrees. Odds are they will count many of your hours from your BA degree. Find out what you would have to do to have a TWO full degrees.
To summarize: 1) Finish your BA; 2) Talk to your current school about a "double major" or two degree path; 3) don't settle for an associates RN degree if you can help it. Go talk to your advisor from both schools at your current college.

Is it hard for Americans to get into Oxford or Cambridge? We Answered:
Not horribly difficult. Meaning, if you have the sort of background that could get you into NYU or UCLA in the States, they will consider you at Oxford (Cambridge will be more difficult, the "prestige" of the institution will demand you have credentials).Try the British Council website for some basic info.
From what I understand (I studied for my BA in England) they will be very interested in academic references, possibly writing samples, and how suitable you are for the course.
Excellent grades are a must, the British system will look at GPA very rigidly as they try to compare it against their own. You will need a GPA above a 3.5 at a "competitive" institution.
