Liberal Bias In The Media
Tammy Said:
How has liberal media bias affected you personally? We Answered:
Why is it stereotyping blacks, muslims, females, gays, etc or all unacceptable but negatively stereotyping conservatives as a bunch of selfish, antigovernment bigots is OK?I personally resent those who want a sealed border being labeled as bigots. And I resent the term "Anti-immigration." I want people to immigrate from Mexico. But I want them to come here legally. We need to make it easier for them to come legally and harder for them to come illegally.
And I know many who are anti-abortion. Although I am not a "pro-lifer" I resent people stereotyping those who are oppose to abortion as anti-women's rights. Most of the anti-abortion people I know are women! I am female and I used to be pro-life.
There are many other examples but I am sick with a cold and can't think of any. Try last minute planning for Christmas while sick.

Mitchell Said:
Help me find a name of a journalist who has been a victim of liberal media bias In Iraq War?We Answered:
I can't think of any. There are lots of cases of the neo-conservatives bias in the American news media coverage of the war in Iraq.If you should decide to use the internet to read war coverage from other countries' major news papers, you will find a lot of news that doesn't even make the back page in American newspapers. In general, it's anything that doesn't promote the war effort.
Christian Said:
How did Conservatives convince so many Americans that there is a liberal media bias?We Answered:
Liberals do argue that there is a conservative bias. It's just that Republicans win out on listenership with talk radio and viewership on cable news. If you listen to the liberal politicians, especially at fundraisers, then you will hear about a conservative bias. That being said, I find newspapers, outside of editorials which are slanted (as they should be), tend to be more objective than anything else you find. Their job is to question government and the Republicans are in charge, so they are questioned right now. If a Democrat was in office, I would expect to hear the same level of criticism from the media as I do now.
Tony Said:
Is there also a liberal media bias in Israel? We Answered:
The media is not much different in Israel in terms of the clear left agenda that it has. Correct me if I am wrong, but in America there are a couple of news networks - most of them are considered to be liberal-left, while there are other objective news channels like Fox News. However, the situation is actually worse in Israel. There are 3 main news channels - channel 22, channel 10, and channel 11 - all of them have a clear liberal and left agenda. So, there is not even one objective news channel in Israel and more and more Israelis are starting to realize how biased and unbalanced the media is.
Haaretz is not a news channel but a newspaper. Other famous newspapers in Israel are Yedioth Ahronoth and Maariv - both, not surprisingly, have a clear leftist agenda. Haaretz is actually known for it's far left bias and even Hamas would not be ashamed of this 'objective' newspaper. There is another newspaper (which is new actually) that is called "Israel Hayom" - it's just recently became the most popular newspaper in Israel after it took the title from Yedioth Ahronoth. Israel Hayom still has a slightly left approach, but it's definitely much more objective than the other newspapers - it does present opinions from the left and from the right as well.
Oscar Said:
how can there be a liberal media bias when news stations have been deregulated? We Answered:
well people usually say the media has a liberal bias because they give more coverage to more liberal politicians, or left-leaning news anchors get their own shows where they are free to express their opinions, or even things like news anchors saying their opinions about a political topic off the teleprompteras for news corporations like CNN, i don't think the board of directors is involved in much of the day-to-day activity of the network, so even if one of them had an agenda, it's not like they're the ones who pick the news for the reporters to cover
Allen Said:
Question for those who claim to see evidence of a liberal media bias?We Answered:
The behavior of the American media would make Joseph Goebbels proud. There is no liberal media. The Liberal Media myth is a propaganda tool employed by conservative radio hosts, columnists and pundits as a convenient excuse why after 20 years their ideology has failed to convince the public at large, and as a memetic inocculation of the public against the evidence that the media bias is in fact a conservative one.
Not only does the liberal media claim have no basis in fact, it also does not make sense considering the issues of media ownership and influence of advertisers. Most media outlets are owned by a handful of conservative corporations and individuals, and funded by usually economically conservative advertisers who have no need for an educated, alert, independent and critical citizenry. What they need is a dumb, bored, cynical and apathetic public that has abandoned all critical faculties and is easily distracted by celebrity gossip and mindless sports games. A public that will believe anything it is told, or nothing at all, which amounts to the same end result. This pro-corporate conservative bias of the media is well-documented and shows itself in consistent under-reporting or ignoring of any information that would lead people to question the fundamental status quo.
